When clicking on a pdf link explorer freezes, hangs, "not respondi

I have removed and reinstalled Adobe reader, newest version 7.07.
I have completely updated Norton Antivirus..
I have updated everything Microsoft has to offer.

Yet when clicking on a pdf file link I get a new window but nothing appears.
program freezes and I have to "end program"

Any ideas please?

Hi Paul :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

IE browser software defaults Acrobat Reader to "OFF" to display PDF files.
You can restore the setting to"ON" by finding an Acrobat document and then
opening it.

Then click Edit> Preferences> Internet> check the box next to "Display PDF
in browser"
