I'm trying to track file useage in share drive environment by looking
at the contents of individual users Recent Documents folders. Most of
them contain more than 15 non-folder items shown in the Recent
Documents list on the Startup menu. I've noticed in my own Recent
Documents folder (with 160 shortcuts) that when a new shortcut is
created, an existing one is removed, but the one which is removed is
not the one with the oldest modified date, but the first shortcut which
later than a particular date (about 3 months ago)
If I then look at another new file, and add a further shortcut, the
shortcut removed is the one with the next most recent modified date.
Does anyone know what the rules governing deletion of shortcuts from My
Recent Documents are?
