Whats Wrong Now

I broke down and bought a new soundblaster soundcard and it was nstalled
sucessfully and d/m says its operating fine...but when i look in the the
sound settings it says there is no audio device present....whats wrong now

Yes i installed the driver and switched between all the pci slots with the
same problem

It installs and device manager sees that is is there and working but nothing
in windows is wanting to use it

Have you set it up in control panel, is there an applet for the card in
there..?
What did you have before, was it onboard, did you disable it..? In device
manager, sound video and game controllers, are there any yellow (!!!) or
(???) marks..? You installed all the software for the card..? DX9c
installed..? Audio codecs updated and installed..?
Diagnostic utilities might help you post some details use Aida32, +
multimedia..

What Information Do you need to help me...also next to my soundcard on adia
it has [NoDB] if that meand anything...and again it is there and says its
working but windows wont use it

What is the official name, make, and model # for the sound card you are
trying to set up..?

I went to the manufacturers site already and d/l the latest driver and i
still have the same problem...

bob
try uninstalling the driver for your original soundcard
if you where using an onboard sound -- disable it in your BIOS
look in the device manager and make sure there is nothing in "Other"

Look here and get the latest driver, check their knowledge base and customer
support links.. Since the card is new Creatives customer support is what you
need to look into.. Buying their sound card entitles you to that service,
they owe it to you..

You might not have the most recent driver installed..
