Every once in a while, this oddball thing appears on my desktop. Only way to
maker it go away appears to be to reboot. Neither Windows Defender, NOD32
anti-virus, nor any other security application, shows any problem. Any
suggestions as to what it might be?
It's gui attributes appear to be very basic, pre-windowsXPO stuff. It has a
title: "I am service!!", then a series of buttons in a column at the left
side of its not-quite-a-windows, with "AiGear", "Frequency," then "Button 2",
"Buttion 3", Button 4", and "Button 5". At the top right is "Button 7". In
the center there is a blank white box, in which one can type, and get
responses. I typed "Who are you", hit the "Frequency" button, and got "281
280" in that same box. Repeated hits brought other numbers very similar.
Hitting "Button 4" showed this:
COMMON_METHOD_GET_ITEM_VALUE test
=======================================
DWORD[0]: 0x00000000 (0)
DWORD[1]: 0x76227448 (1981969480)
I brought up Task Manager, and looked through the lists of applications and
services running, but wasn't able to determine which, if any,
this...artifact?...was connected to.
Doesn't seem to affect the operation of Windows Vista Ultimate, 64-bit, at
all.
Any ideas?
