What's the easist way for Volume amd Mic Options

I see that when you click on the volume icon in task bar, it brings up only
volume. I use a mic for Skype and need to mute it after use, so I don't get
feedback. It feels like the Microphone option is so buried it's stupid,
where as XP had all your options in one window. Anyone know of an easy way
to access Microphone Options so I can mute VERY easily or quickly?

After clicking the Volume icon in the notification area, did you click the
Mixer link to see if it appears on the Per-App volume dialog?
