What to replace MS photoed with?

I hear that photoed is going away with the next release of MS Office. What
should I replace it with? The Kodak picture view apps bundled with XP are
worthless. I have MS PictureIt! 9 but it is slow. I'm looking for something
simpler, quicker, and easier to use (like photoed!). Any suggestions?

If you have your old Office CD you can re-install Photo Editor from that. Be
sure to 'X' out all other programs and just select Photo Editor under the
Office Tools menu. I did this and it worked. I found the solution on
Microsoft's website, if you need more help.

Good idea. Didn't know you could do that. I suppose that will work OK for
the meantime. Wouldn't it be great if you could just manually copy the
binary over to the new system? (oops, I guess that be might illegal!)

But somehow, somewhere, I'd love to find a simple, easy to use photo editor
program that is a) fast, b) doesn't force you to go through 3 - 5 wizard
steps just to do one thing, and c) has enough of a feature set to get 90% of
my routine photo editing tasks done quickly. Example: photoed has
"despeckle" and "crop circle" which I use a lot!

Anyway, thanks for the tip!
