What to do with old toner

Assuming you're in the United States, which you haven't said, you can take
the old cartridge to an Office Depot store and they'll give you a ream of
paper for it. Then it's their problem

(Some of the cartridges that they get this way go on to be remanufactured.)

If you mean a cartridge, most manufacturers have recycling schemes,
though I just refill mine at home.

Or did you mean actual toner ?
