What the hell am I doing wrong?

I seem to have drawn a blank. I can't remember how to let IE 6 start
automatically when
I connect to the Internet. After I connect I'd like IE 6 to open by itself
instead of me having
to choose my IE 6 icon from the desktop. Can't seem to remember how to do
it.

I don't know about that, but you can make your modem connect to the internet
when you start IE.

In Control Panel|INTERNET OPTIONS|CONNECTIONS try either the "dial
whenever a Network connection is not present" or the "dial the default
connection" options.

You don't say whether you're on dialup or what. But I
use a third party Dialup program which will launch any
program I tell it to after a connection has been
established. Otherwise, I'm not sure how to make Windows
launch IE after a connection has been established unless
you CLICK on the IE icon. Sorry.

How are you connecting to the internet?

If you are using a third party connection program to control your modem,
like AT&T Worldnet, Earthlink Total Access, there may be an option in the
connection properties to automatically launch IE.
