What port to block to disable all chatting software installed.

I my company there are few users who waste thier time
chatting. How can I block those port in the firewall &
what port to block to disable all chatting softwares.

There are lots of different programs out there that use various ports. You can do a
search on http://google.com for the program such as " AIM firewall ports " or such. A
better method, if possible, is to block ALL outbound ports and then create the
exception rules for just the allowed traffic. A personal firewall can also easily do
this and have firewall rules based on application, assuming users do not have
administrative rights on their own machine. --- Steve
