Just noticed a subfolder under My Network Places called ftp.mpoli.fi.

I believe fi is Finland, how it got there I do not know. I tried to delete
it but the moment you click it windows explorer freezes up. I am running
Windows XP SP2 with a cable internet connection.

If anybody knows what this is I sure would appreciate your input.

Thanks,
Roy

In the simplest for it looks like a simple ftp site. How it got there, no
idea. It may appear to hang explorer trying to get out to it. I tried to get
to it but it came back as a down FTP site. Wait a minute or two so the
connection can timeout.

You must have download something from that site and it created a link.
Simply delete it.

That shows up here when ever I've used IE to access an FTP account. It seems
to go away eventually on it's own? Perhaps after the history has been
deleted or TIF killed or what not. Either way it shows up at my own site(s)
and thus it's never been a cause for me to worry. While it's in that folder
it's nothing more than a shortcut and not really anything that you need to
worry about unless, of course, you have that folder elsewhere on your
computer or it connects to your computer and not to a remote FTP site. I'd
wager it's the former meaning that it's just one of the FTP sites you've
entered. Click it... See where it takes you... I got a site that could not
be found... The www site is a mail link from the looks of things.
