More likely it is PCI Express as you say, I thought all AGP slots were
BROWN.

In a nutshell, PCI Express has a much faster transfer speed than standard
PCI. Right now, PCI Express's primary application is for video cards, but
in time it is likely everything will start appearing on PCI-E.
PCI-e is a different standard, both newer and faster than PCI. At the
moment, the only PCI-e cards that exist (as far as I know, are video
cards. If you use a PCI-e video card in that slot, your video will be
faster than if you used an equivalent PCI video card.
