What is the text titled on desktop icons?

Hi,
I am trying to change the color of the text under desktop icons from white
to black. When I click on advanced settings under desktop
settings/appearance, multiple items are listed. I have been unsuccessful in
figuring out which item describes the text description below the icons.
Any help?
Also, is it possible to have different resolution settings for the monitor
for each user?
Tks.

You can't. Windows chooses it based on the color of the background. It
provides white text for a dark background and black text for a light
one.

Thanks Ken.
When you write "background" what are you referring? Can I change this
background color? Right now I have a light blue pix for my desktop, and the
text below the icons is almost unreadable.
Also, what about the resolution question? Can different users have their own
setting?

Right click My Computer> Properties > Advanced > Settings button (1st)
Scroll down and uncheck "Use drop shadows for icon labels.." > CLick OK > OK

Right click desktop > Properties > Desktop tab > Set background color to white.

Yes. You can change the picture used for wallpaper or use one of the
solid or patterned ones provided. Right-click the desktop and choose
Properties. Change it on the desktop tab.

That can happen if you have a medium-dark image. I think it's
generally better to have either a light or dark one.

Sorry, I missed that question earlier (it's usually better to ask
unrelated questions in separate messages).

There's no way to do that within Windows itself, but MVP Doug Knox has
a solution for you. Go to http://www.dougknox.com and click on Win XP
Utilities. Then click on "Keep User Display Settings".

Thank you Ayush.
Your solution worked well.
Have a great day!
