Questions like this get opinions, not answers, and you'll get different
opinions from different people. I like Avast!

Huh? Windows OneCare has rated at the bottom of the barrel in effectiveness
in independent testing. There is no one best, but this is certainly a poor
choice.

LOL! Are you at all surprised that an MVP would recommend a MS product,
despite it's inferior efficacy??

You say AVG is all right, but I find it to slooow down my pc, so I am going
to install my Vista ready BitDefender package I originally bought for XP,
but uninstalled it because it was giving me update problems.

I also thought OneCare is a little under average...

Thanx!!

I know everyone is giving great opinions on the best antivirus for Vista
...... I use AVG by Grisoft and I find it to work extremely we ..... i use it
on all my windows systems ... never had a problem with it ...... I have had a
bad experience with avast once and that is why i never tried it again ......
but AVG in my opinion is a very good candidate .....

Considering that Windows Live One Care has done very poorly in every test I
have ever read, I'd not be recommending it at all.

I never suggested anything about One Care.
You should not make such assumptions since assumptions tend to be
wrong very often.
