What is Kapersky Mail Checker?

When opening Outlook 2007 (after a virus attack) a window pops up: "The
Add-in "Kapersky Mail Checker"
(E:\portapps\PortableApps\KAVPortable\App\KAV8\mcou.dll) cannot be loaded and
has been disabled by Outlook. Please contact the Add-in manufacturer for an
update. If no update is available, please uninstall the Add-in" Outlook
will open if I click OK but I cannot open WMV attachments nor can I print. I
get the message "The print spooler is not running" Are these things
connected?

At one point, someone installed Kaspersky antivirus and it attached an
add-in to Outlook. At this point Outlook can't load it because the add-in
mscou.dll is not there or Outlook is disabling due to compatibility issues.

As for the error being associated to the ability of not printing or opening
WMV attachments is anyone's guess. Since you didn't mention if you are
using XP/Vista (or the beta of Windows 7), I would first try starting the
services management snap-in (start > run > services.msc > ok button) and see
if you can start the print spooler service.

For WMV files, I would try to re-associate them to your favorite media
player.
