Are older versions faster, better for an older machine with windows 98?
What features are in the newer versions that you could not do without?

Thanks,

SK

Hi,
Always found "trusty'old" v.4.0 to offer all of the needed stuff.

I would be far less worried about usuability and appearance than I would

have?

One would presume "many more".

Still, if one wants to view modern websites, one might consider using a
modern browser version. I keep reading that NS4/IE4 hits are maybe a
percent of page hits. There are ways to work around that legacy
software, HTML/CSS-wise, and some people still do, but they're not going
to be specially coded for, forever.

Although I've fell in love with Mozilla Firebird it's just too bulky
for my slower systems. IE 6 on a striped version of Win98se works best
for slower PCs, and security aside, some of the changes made in that
version dramatically speed up some of windows functions on slower PCs.

I am using IE6 and I feel it is much faster than IE5.5.
