Corporations have advised that all accounting computers download a security
patch directly from Microsoft. I can't find the word "patch" on any download
from M. What does "patch" mean?

Try:

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

OTOH, I suggest you check with your I.T. Dept first, especially in a
"corporation". I.T. Dept may have set "forced" update from the network
server and that means your computer is updated whenever you log on to the
network with updates from the network/file server.

I'd agree with Van. Your corp IT department should be handling all
this and should be the people you contact. Especially if their email
doesn't make sense. After all you won't be the only person in the
corp who is having trouble understanding the email.
