Hi Fuzzy,
There's another possibility to examine first. CRC errors also
are caused when a file is corrupted. Using an antivirus program
while installing commercial software could cause that problem.
To be sure that it's not your sound card, you can always physically
remove it from your computer and then try installing that game.
I'm not doubting your theory, but I don't want you to spend
good money on a new card unnecessarily. Hope this helps!
