What is ? "550 Authentication"

I am trying to send some e-mails to various people in my address book.
OUTLOOK won't send them and gives me the following reason. What does this
mean and how can I turn it off? 550 Authentication turned on in your
email client.

Do you have SMTP authentication turned on? Check here in OL2002/2003: Tools
menu > Email accounts > View/Change existing mail accounts > Click Next >
Highlight an account > Click Change > Click More Settings. I think the
settings is on the Outgoing Mail server tab

dunno - but if you use BT as your ISP don't worry about it - happened to us
all morning - apparently they know about it and are fixing it.

Apologies if that's no help at all
