What if you 'lose' your color scheme in ppt 2007?

So I'm in v2007 and starting a new template from scratch, i just made
a new color scheme, and it shows up on *my* computer under 'custom' in
the color tab/window. the problem: if someone on another machine
opens this up, they do *not* see this custom color scheme in that
window, just the built-in colors (and any that they themselves have
created). yes, the color scheme is 'programmed' and if you click on
'create new theme colors' that is the one that opens up for editing.
but here's the issue: what if someone on another machine opens this
file and accidentally selects one of the built-in colors???? Then the
custom color scheme is *lost*. how do you get it back?????

I work in a design firm and all of us are struggling trying to get
around this glitch. any advice would be appreciated!

You can send the color XML file to the user.

One custom color scheme travels with a theme. I thought it also showed up in
the dropdown, but maybe I'm wrong. I'll have to test that some more.

http://www.echosvoice.com/2007/whatgoeswhere.htm explains where to save the
"customcolorscheme.XML" file. (bottom of the page)

If you want more than one custom color scheme to travel with a theme, you
can edit the THMX.XML http://www.echosvoice.com/2007/addcolorstotheme.htm
has instructions for that. Both of these color schemes show up in the
dropdown when I edited the THMX.XML -- but you know, I didn't test it on
another machine to make sure.

Finally, since you're designing themes, there is a theme builder utility at
http://www.codeplex.com/openxmlthemebuilder that you might find useful.
Unfortunately, there's no documentation for it. Hopefully tehre will be
someday.
