Adding (Importing) a Color Scheme from another Presetation?

Running PPT2003

Scenario:
You have presentation A, with 50 slides and two Color Schemes.
You have presentation B, with 1 slides and a completely diffferent Color
Scheme.

You import the slide from presentation B into presentation A.
When the newly imported slide is selected its unique color scheme is
displayed in the "Apply Color Scheme" pane. However, it is not displayed in
that pane if any of the other50 original slides are selected.

IS THERE A WAY, to have the newly imported color scheme to be displayed
(with the original two color schemes) in the pane irregardless of which slide
is selected WITHOUT physically applying the newly imported color scheme to
all slides?

Thanks for the lead, E.

I could not get it to work at first, however.

It seems that each master and its associated slides are like separate
presentations witnin a presentation file.

After experimenting, it appears that each slide master has its own
color-scheme set (even though each set may appear to the same as another
master's color-scheme set). For example, if you create a new master, then
MicroSofts' default color-scheme set is loaded and appears in the color
scheme pane for that master. If you then delete several schemes from the new
master's set and then select slides which use a different master, the
color-scheme sets of the two master willl be different.

The file that I initially tried with Shyam's Color Scheme Manager had 7
masters. It would ONLY update one master. Since the first Master is the
"Default Master", I assumed that the Color Scheme Manage only worked with the
default master. However, if you MOVE EACH MASTER to the top of the others
and THEN use the Color Scheme Manager IT WORKS. Just keep on bumping each
master to the top of the slide master view until all have been updated with
the Color Scheme Manager.

Sure seems funky but it works. You'd think if PowerPoint would let you
delete a scheme in the Edit Color Scheme dialog, it would allow you to add
one as well.

Thanks againk, John

Thanks for the info.

I do wish the color schemes were easier to deal with in PPT 2003 and prior.
(They're managed really differently in 2007.) I understand why they're "per
slide," but, like you, I often wish they could be easily applied (or easily
available) to all masters in a presentation.
