What if my laptop is not connected to the server where my Business Contact
Mngr database is located? Can I syncronize my laptop with the server before
I disconnect to go on my business trip?

With BCM v3 you can create a local database on the laptop. They call it
the offline database.

A lot of responses to posts in this forum are implying that BCM v3 already
exists as a viable solution for several issues that users are currently
facing. BCM v3 show a lot of promise for improvement but it needs to be
clear that this is currently a beta release only and will remain so for many
months yet to come. Microsoft does not recommend that users adopt this
version 3 beta for mission critical (real world) application. It will likely
not be until around January '07 that the public release (finished) version of
BCM v3 will happen. Unless you are a tech minded programmer prepared for the
nuances of using a beta version, BCM v2 remains your existing "supported"
option for use right now in a real world business setting.

Can the offline database on my laptop be synchronized with the Bus.Cont.Mngr
Database on my network?
Thanks for any help,

Yes. Whenever BCM detects connectivity to server database, you will get a
balloon prompt. You will be able to sync databases.

BCM will prompt you if it detects conflicts btwn server databsae items and
local database items. You will have option to either choose local changes or
server changes per item.
