What happened to my defragmentation utility?

I went to run defrag on my Windows XP Home Edition computer tonight and
under the Tools for my Hard Disk properties it said: "No
defragmentation tool is currently installed." I have definitely run
defrag before on this computer. Where did it go? Did it disappear with
one of the Windows updates? I am totally up-to-date with all updates.
How did it disappear and how do I get it back? Any help much
appreciated.

Did you install a trial version of a third party defragmentation tool and
then un-install the trial version when it expired?
Diskeeper has caused this problem in the past.

I did not install a third party defrag tool... Use Norton's and Spy
Sweeper virus and spyware utilities... That's about the only thing I've
installed on this machine recently. What other possibilities could this
be?
