What does this mean?

What does Managed MAPI service catastrophic failure mean? I recently
upgraded my Symantec software and started getting this error message. Does
anyone know what it means?

Thanks!

Try repairing the .NET Framework installation.
Follow the support information link for Microsoft .NET Framework in the Add
or Remove Programs window in the control panel.

I didn't even go into .net framework. I did read the support information
line and it doesn't have anything to do with what I had been doing and also I
don't have the .netframework cd or dvd and didn't download it.

Now what?

Thanks!

Well, If you're 100% positive you don't have net framework, (it WAS a
downloadable option in Windows Updates) - then I can't help.

BTW, you don't "go into" .net framework, (nor do you get it from a CD or DVD
of all things) - & once it's installed it becomes part of your system, which
gives me the impression you're completely ignorant as to whether you have it
or not.

Did you actually CHECK in Add/Remove Programs for "Microsoft Net Framework"
as advised?

Also, if you're really convinced that the Symantec upgrade caused that error
message (you didn't even mention which particular Symantec program you
upgraded), check with them.

What version of "Symantec" aka "Norton" software did you upgrade? Any of
the "2005" versions of "Symantec" software are based on .NET 1.1 - so if you
don't have it installed when you try to install it, it will install it for
you, behind the scenes - it's on the "Symantec" software CD.

Small Note: If you want to learn how to fix/do something, I'll point you to
it, but if you want me to do your work for you, it will cost you $50 USD per
hour - your choice.
