MAPI SERVICE

I recently installed the Norton Security Program online and now get a reading
"Managed MAPI Service Catastrophic Failure; Unknown Error". Can anyone tell
me what is the MAPI Service and what does this mean?

Yeah...
According to http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/M/MAPI.html MAPI is:

Messaging Application Programming Interface, a system built into
Microsoft Windows that enables different e-mail applications to work
together to distribute mail

which, of course, means it is a problem with your email setup or server.
