What developer software for Access?

I need help figuring out what software I need to continue and expand
development of Access applications. I've created several apps using Access
2002 on Windows XP. In general, the apps are client/server types, with a
front end on the user's desktop computer and the back end Access database on
a server. They support 10-12 users (department-wide use - not
corporate-wide). I want to develop these into more robust applications that
can use either the run-time version or the full version of Access, interface
with other types of back-end databases, and have a web interface (data access
page?). I have adequate skills with VBA, but I haven't programmed in any
other languages for a very long time. I see my options as 1) Upgrade my
Office XP Professional license to Office 2003 Professional and purchase
Visual Studio .NET 2003 Professional Special Edition, 2) upgrade my Office XP
Professional license to Office 2003 Professional and purchase Visual Studio
..NET 2003 Professional, or 3) keep my Office XP license and purchase Office
XP 2002 Developer Edition. But, there are also the Access Developer
Extensions - are those provided with all the products?

Thank you

I recommend checking out some of the Access development software offered by FMS, in particular
Total Access Analyzer. You can purchase a single user license for TAA for $299. This product
will definitely help you create more robust databases.

That's where I'd put the money first, before worrying too much about the latest & greatest Office
upgrade.

If you need the run-time licensing, you need to buy one of those
products. The other stuff they throw in is not critically important:
there are competing products.
