What are temp files

Inside Cocument setting, User, Local settings, Temp there are many files some
very large how important are these. Can I erase them with out any problem.

First reboot.
Then you can safely delete the contents of any "temp" file.(Do not delete
the file)
You can safely delete all "*.tmp"

It all depends...what type of files are they? How are they listed?

To to My Computer, right click on your C drive and select properties,
disk cleanup

Or start, accessories, system tools, disk clean up.

temp files are temporary and can be deleted safely
