In my Temp File in the Windows Directory are many files. Some are old. I
use the disk clean-up tool almost everyday. How are these files remaining
on my system? Should I manually remove them?

Thank you;
David

C:\WINDOWS\Temp?
That's default for many applications to write to...
You can clean that up if you like - the best/safest way is the disk cleanup
tool.
Reboot right before you run it.
Otherwise - grab "CrapCleaner" from the Internet - install and use that
occassionally as well.

Unfortunately the native Windows cleanup tools are often ineffective.
ccleaner is *much* better at this: www.ccleaner.com

Files in temporary folders are by definition supposed to be temporary and
can be deleted. However, there are often files that can't be deleted
because they are in active use, such as MS Office temp files.
