What affects the speed of the loading of Windows welcome screen.

I've been working on my computer and the school's computer. However, for my
computer, the loading of Windows XP ( before welcome screen, with a moving
progress bar) of my computer takes about 20 revolutions of the moving
progress bar before the welcome screen loads, while for my school's, it took
only 3 revolutions. My processor is faster. What affects the speed of the
loading of Windows welcome screen?

Probably the school computer has been configured to only load necessary
programs and services. Your home computer probably has lots of stuff
starting with Windows that doesn't need to be there. Here are links to
help you trim your startup time:

And of course, you *are* running a current antivirus using updated
definitions, right? And you know your machine is 100% virus and
spyware-free?

If you need more help, please repost to this thread.
