Time to load Windows

Hi

When I boot up and just before I get the logon screen there is a bar that
shows the progress of windows loading.

Until the other day I only got four sweeps of the bar; since then I get ten
or more.

What is the significance of this loading progress bar and why should my OS
suddenly apprear to take much longer to load than before?

I have run HijackThis, SpyBot, AdAware and Norton Anti Virus Scan with
latest updates and can see nothing unusual or suspicious.

Any comments and suggestions would be apprpeciated.

3. Disconnected network drives
4. Spyware & Adware
5. File and Printer Sharing
6. Windows Explorer set to "Automatically search for network folders and
printers" (Tools\Folder Options\View)
7. Deffective functioning hardware.
8. Too many startup programs. (Enabled on Start\Run\"msconfig" [no-quotes]

9. Disabled Windows Services (Default settings for services
