WGA doesnt work for me either.

I tried to install the WIndows Media Center 2005 rollup edition and
For the past 2 weeks I am unable to use windows update.

It says the WGA authentication failed and is unable to continue.

I tried the removal of the DLL per the other technet thread but it
reinstalls it and then does the same message again that its unable to check
for authentication.
And yes its a legit copy of WMCE!!! Wish I could install the rollup without
going through this extra stuff that is slowing down my ability to secure my
pc.

So for now I made the pc dual boot with linux......

Try downloading the update directly, then install:

the direct download for the update worked!
