Western Digital Rebates Outpost Fry's
In case anyone was considering to buy because of the current rebates
being ofered maybe people should let them know how long, or if they
even got their rebates?

My 2 cents:
I fell for the Western Digital Hard Drive rebate trap at Outpost. They
promise that in 6-8 weeks you'll get your check. Ha! In 10 weeks they
apologized and said we just mailed it we're a little late? Umm.. I'm
not sure which turtle your using, but it must of gone the wrong way
because even a turtle would have made from Texas to California by now
several weeks later. Has anyone actually got a rebate from WDC/
Outpost?
The solution is simple. Don't but WDC, or from sellers that allow bogus
rebate
offers.

WEEKS!!! This constitutes false advertising. I had multiple E-mail
interchanges with them in the meantime. I am quite ticked off about
this as it is a full 4 weeks over WD's maximum promise. I purchased
my 80GB WD hard drive from Best Buy (who I have found to be good on
their in-house rebate promises).

I've stopped buying things with rebates unless I would buy them at
full price if the rebate never came. Then the rebate is like a
bonus rather than something that enters the decision process.

I wish the whole rebate thing would die the death it deserves.

Same here. I won't recognize any rebate or otherwise not part of the deal
at the time of purchase. Its what I pay out of pocket at that time that I
consider my outlay.
