Welcome Screen

I have specified that users log on to the computer using
the Welcome screen, by selecting the Use the Welcome
screen check box.

But it always goes to the classic logon prompt.

Why is this and how can I fix it?

I also checked use fast user switching, but my computer
won't alow me to do that either.

Is your computer a member of a network domain?

I have a home network. A crossover cable to another computer so my daughter
can play her internet games while I'm on my computer.

hey Mike, umm... were you able to select users by the
windows xp welcome screen before?

If so, there is probably a program preventing your easy
logon feature. click start>control panel>user
accounts>and then select "change the way users log on and
off" Select "use the welcome screen" and "use fast user
switching" If you cannot select these, it will tell you
which program is stopping you from doing it.
