Welcome Screen Unread Email Notification

Running XP Pro with Office 2003. The welcome screen shows
I have an unread email but nothing shows up in Outlook
(not Express) as being unread. Any ideas why this is
happening?

Which other email clients/programs do you use? Messenger, Hotmail.......

If you have the Outlook mail reader installed, start your troubleshooting
there:

To check the key that hoards the address used:

Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[YourE-Mail Address]. In the right pane modify: Message Count, Change it to 0.HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail.
