Hi,

(Windows XP SP2)

I just booted my new computer for the first time. It asked for an
Administrator Password, which I entered.

Now, when I boot, I do not have to type a password to enter Windows. I
would like to enter a password. How do I do that?

I went to User Accounts, my name is there with Administrator under it.
If I click on my name, I get the option to Create a Password. I would
not be changing the original password I created for Administrator, if I
use this option or would this be the way to create another password for
the Welcome Screen? Hope I'm clear about this.

Thank you!

Gloria

Yep you have made it clear Gloria, the password you entered when you started
up was most probably to protect your administrator account, if you set the
password for your account in user accounts then you will be setting the
password for just your account, which will then ask you for that password
when turn the machine on.

Hope that helps ?

OK, thank you, Andy, I just wanted to make sure I was not changing the
Administrator password.
