Welcome Screen - Help!

I have already checked the box in the user account that says "use the welcome
screen". But whenever i start up my pc, the welcome screen show up for a
while n automatically login to window without me clicking the profile name or
picture.

Can anyone please help me?

Do you have more than one user on the machine? If not, that is why it is
going to your desktop - because you are using the Welcome Screen and
are the only one on the machine. If you want to click an icon (as
opposed to the Windows 2000 way of manually entering your logon
information), make a second user from the User Accounts applet in
Control Panel.

Thanks. But I remember last time i was able to use the welcome screen with
just one user(or at least the welcome screen has only one user name shown),
so is there anything i miss out?

Not as far as I know. You can learn more about the Welcome Screen and
logging in, etc. by typing "Welcome Screen" into XP's Help & Support.

Another thought - Did you previously use the TweakUI Power Toy to set an
automatic logon? If so, start TweakUI from the All Programs list and
uncheck the automatic logon option.

Click Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 Check the box "Users must enter a username and password."
