Well follow-up to my post 19/7/08 @1300hrs, I used the above link to cure my
problem of the named welcome screen. Still have a problem holding the
setting for Autologon. When I tick the box for it to boot into desktop
window it does for the first time. But if I dont make sure I have re ticked
box before shut-down, it reverts back to Twin welcome window with my name on
right pane. I do restart windows after setting, but it appears not to lock
setting.

Below is orignal Question from first post

Could you please assist. I run XP Pro and on boot up I have always had the
full screen Welcome window,(blue) but it has now changed to half screen
welcome on left, and on right half showing my name etc which has to be
clicked on to open up. I cannot remember how to get back to the full screen
Welcome, on loading as it has been some time.

Hope you can prompt my memory

Roger

Hi Roger,

Somehow, ASPNET got checked to be shown on the Welcome Screen. Uncheck
it. I do not use TweakUI. I use TuneUp Utilities 2007 and 2008 is
currently available. http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/

From the standpoint of 2008, Open TuneUp Utilities.Click Customize
Windows. Click TuneUp System Control. Under Administration, click User
Logon. On the General Tab, click Customize.... Click Security. Uncheck
Show ASPNET. Click OK and OK.

Reboot to test.
Hi, creator
Well done all is well, unchecked ASPNET. and rebooted, I have kept your url
for later.
Did not know what ASPNET was, so left alone. This showed up in control panel
at start of problem. This problem occurred when I loaded a program that
required Microsoft .Net framework 1.1 As I always used to have a full blue
welcome screen boot.
Thanks again Roger
