Weird Windows 2000 Server problem

I am running Windows 2000 Server sp 4. I can't install or
uninstall any programs. It sits there for ever. Also
when I do windows update will not start the download of
the files at all. Any ideas?

Yes. Use the "Administrator" account.
 
Ok, that fixed the Windows update problem (all installed
fine) but I still can't install any applications, (Like
updates to veritas, antivirus etc.)
 
It would be best to re-install the applications (do NOT uninstall first) using the Adminstrator account.
