Weird loopback problem

Hi all,

I have been having a weird problem with two pcs running Windows 2000
SP4. Basically, I cannot ping 127.0.0.1 but I can browse the internet
through an adsl router. I have tried repeatedly to uninstall and then
re-install all network components which works until I reboot, at which
point the problem re-surfaces....
