weird install problem

Hi,

I have a client's Dell system that I am trying to
reinstall XP onto... the problem is everytime I start the
process I get an error that says unable to install
setupdd.sys setup will not continue and it ends with an
error code 7.

Any idea what this is all about? Brand new harddrive
(tried it both formatted and unformatted)

I have tried multiple drives (1 worked once) and tried
multiple cables etc.

Pulling my hair out... help please.

This issue may occur if your computer's BIOS has issues when ACPI is enabled.

Well the file I am having problems with is setupdd.sys...
but regardless I updated the system bios with still no
luck.

Now here is something new I found rather interesting....
if I start with a different harddrive I dont get this
error but it hangs during install... then reboot I get
this error again. So basically after 3 drives it appears
on first attempt I dont get this error.. 2nd attempt and
any after the fact all get this error.

Any ideas?
