Weird Email Behaviour

Hello
I sometimes have outlook report that it is sending more emails than I have
in my outbox at the time of sending. My sent folder only holds copies of
emails that I know I have sent with no sign of anything untoward.
I was wondering if my computer could be being used as a zombie by some
spammer and if there is any way of finding out.
I have an up to date virus scanner(nod) installed and have checked my system
for ad/mal ware using ad watch se professional.
Any help or insights on what is what would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Peter

Go through these general malware removal steps systematically -
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Include scanning with David Lipman's Multi_AV and follow instructions to
do all scans in Safe Mode.

http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Multi-AV - instructions
http://pcdid.com/Multi_AV.htm - download

When all else fails, run HijackThis and post your log in one of the
specialty forums listed at the link above (not here, please).

Standard caveat: If the procedures look too complex - and there is no
shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a
professional computer repair shop (not your local version of
BigStoreUSA). Please be aware that not all local shops are skilled at
removing malware and even if they are, your computer may be so infested
that Windows will need to be clean-installed. Have all your data backed
up before you take the machine into a shop.

browser, On how to disable the Add-ons follow this:
Click on Programs Tab and then click the Manage Add-Ons Button there Disable
the None/Not Verified Plug-ins/Add-ons ( you need to Renable them one-by-one
later and see which is the culprit or you can send them here in your next
post) and click [OK] to confirm your Changes.

Click on Advanced Tab and scroll down under the browsing option and uncheck
this box:

It's entirely possible that these are read receipts. You can block those in
Outlook, if you like. I do - I find read receipt requests rude & intrusive.
