weekly back up/for XP?

PC said weekly back misssed & did I want to run it. I said yes/ok. Then it said back up was full. I do NOT know what that means. What back up? And HOW do I change it if it is full? Please help if you can. I have an IBM R50 laptop

goto my computer/control panel/system/system restore/settings and you can
set how much diskspace is reserved for system restore info
 
Aren't you confusing backup with restore?
