I am showing 386 files in the current web with components
showing an error. errors on my website. The error
message is:
"Cannot create file "doctodep.btr", (No such file or
directory)"

Website is www.rotary5830.org

I am sure it has to do with the navigation bars or theme,
but I cannot find out how to correct it.

The doctodep.btr file should live in the ( hidden in FrontPage folder view ) _vti_pvt folder in
your website.
Browse there using Windows Explorer and check if the file exists. If so, right click on it and make
sure it is *not* checked as read only.

This is one of the files FrontPage uses to maintain it's inventory of your web site, and how it
knows what files / images etc are used on what page when you rename files and such.

You might also want to open your web and then recalculate hyperlinks. I "think" it will restore the
file.

This is on the Web and i cannot get to the folder you
mentioned. On my own server the file is there and i do
not get the component errors.

I do not have server administrastor access so I can't
recalculate the web.

Will it help for me to delete the web and publish the
whole thing from my server, or can i copy the folder to
the web server?

Open the remote site in FP, then Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks.

Gee, I really love these "Smart" dropdowns. Thanks for
that help. Unfortunately it did not correct the error.
It did get it down to 212 components with errors.

I ran it twice, but that is as low as it would go.

Any other suggestions?

Where are you seeing these errors, and do they effect the actual viewing of your web site in a
browser?

The errors seem to relate to the theme or navigation
buttons.

Here is one example:

Name= "WCS.htm_nav_pstmdrn010_hbtn.gif"
Title "Rotary/WCS/_overlay\WCS.htm_nav_pstmdrn010_hbtn.gif
Error: "Cannot create file "doctodep.btr",(No such file
or directory)"

Most of the files referenced are in the "_overlay"
folder. The rest are in the "_themes" folder

Thanks for your patience.

PS
Found the URL in a prior post

In your local site delete all files in each _overlay folder (at all folder levels) and run a Tools Recalculate then check the report
again

for the error you mentioned the derived folder should have
/Rotary/WCS/_overlay/WCS.htm_cmp_pstmdrn010_hbtn_a.gif
not
/Rotary/WCS/_overlay\WCS.htm_nav_pstmdrn010_hbtn.gif
