Webpages wont close..gonna pull all my hair out soon !?!?!?

I have no idea what went wrong but all of a sudden when I open a web page I
can't close it any of the many ways you can NORMALLY close a web page. I
have re-installed IE6, done a scandisk and a virus check and nothing came
up.

Actually, I can close web pages, but only after they have fully loaded and I
have to wait a while for god knows what, even then, it only works for some
pages,others I can only close using Cntrl+Alt+Del and then it closes IE all
together.

Please help anyone.

The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).

I wonder if Scott solved his problem. I'm having the
exact same propblem. I ran Xcleaner, Spybot, spysweeper
and hijackthis and am still having the problem

Did you post your HijackThis log as suggested here:

If so, who did you sign on as and I'll have a look.

You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK
