Webcam problems

A friend 7000 miles away has suddenly had her webcam stop working.

I got her to test it on another machine and it works fine so I know it's not
the camera

I got her to download the drivers again and reinstall them but that made no
difference either.

I also got her to plug the webcam in a different USB port but no success.

Any ideas will be welcome.

Any error messages?

Has she explained the situation properly to you (Not being sarcastic but
it happens)...

For example if there is no error message is she trying to use it locally
(ie to take still shots) or is it maybe with some instant message
software like Yahoo, Skype etc.

What version of Vista, what is on her other test machine the camera
"Works" with and has she downloaded anything else recently - does some
event coincide with when this started happening.

I may not be able to help personally but someone else may spot something
in any further information you can give.

Also try Google searching for (say) "Webcam model" and various things
like "Vista" you might get lucky, if so please consider letting
everybody else know by posting back to this thread.
