Genius Webcam messenger (driver help)

Hi!

I'm trying Windows Vista RC1 with this webcam without success. First I
tried the 64 bits version of windows, but the webcam was not detected and a
lot of softwares does not working too. Now I'm using the 32 bits version.

After installation, the webcam was detected by windows but it's not
working. Any image or video is captured.

The Genius support told me they don't have plans to make drivers for
windows vista.

Anyone have this webcam working? Anyone has an idea?

Some of my devices and applications are not working, what should I do?

You can do a couple things; check the manufacturer's website for patches,
updated drivers or to simply find out about Vista support for the particular
product. If your internet connection is working in Windows Vista, I suggest
you try obtaining the drivers through Windows Update. Click Start > All
Programs > Windows Update > Turn on Windows Update. A list of available
updates will then be downloaded, you will have the option to view them, do
so and check off the appropriate drivers or software patches you need and
click Install.

For software, if you are running Windows Vista x64, certain types of
applications will not work; these include Win16 applications and Win32
applications that use Win16 installers. You can also try running the
application in Compatibility mode to see if it will work (full 32-bit
application applications supported). Right click the programs executable >
click Properties > "Compatibility" tab > under "Compatibility Mode" check
the Run this application in compatibility mode for: box > click in the list
box and choose a suitable version of Windows.

Joubert:
This is how I made a Genius Webcam work in Vista x64.
Download the proper Windows XP x64 driver for your camera from Genius web
site.
Do not run the setup program, just unpack it with WinRAR or whatever
decompression tool you may have.
Go then to device manager and locate your camera.
It should be showing a question mark, because it could not be installed.
Right click on it and choose update driver.
Don't let it search for anything, just go to the "Have Disk" button.
Point to the inf file contained in the files you extracted.
Let the install go on.
Accept any warnings that Vista gives you.
Reboot and press F8 in the boot menu for accessing the options.
Choose the one that says something like "Disable driver signature..."
You should be able to use your webcam now.
