Web site in address bar

I am using Windows ME w/ Internet Explorer 6. I have a website in the
address bar that I cannot get rid of. It is so deeply embedded that I can't
delete it by any conventional methods. I have done a search for it in all
the files on my computer and the registry, and it doesn't appear anywhere.
When I go to IE tool/options and delete the history, all websites are
deleted except this one. What remains in the address bar...are my favorites
folders and all *.lnk (desktop icons) and this lousy website. It apparently
has embedded itself in the file that contains the favorites and *.lnk that
appear in the address bar. I cannot find this file to edit. I'm not sure
that it is even an editable file, even if I could find it. Has anybody had
this problem? Does anyone have a solution? I have searched Microsoft's
support site and the web, and can't find a solution to this problem. Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dan
