web search component showing web stats pages

I've added the web search component to website.

The website statistics are saved in the web. When testing the search I was dismayed to see that the results included the web statistic pages. The search words which I had used appeared in the web stats.

Apart from changing the way I receive the stats (i.e. not to have them saved in the web) is it possible to exclude them from the search?

You host either needs to move the stat folder out of the root web or make it a FP subweb under the
root web.
