web pages open onto windows media player

I am no wiz kid on computers so I would really appreciate your help . My
internet seems to be working fine however a good few times when i attempt to
open a web page it attempts to open it in my media player which it obviously
can't do. It may be just a simple setting that needs changing but I would
really appreciate if someone could give me their opinion . Thanks.

One possible cause is spyware infestation, followed by Winsock
corruption.

Try to use http://www.michna.com/kb/wxnet.htm to solve this
problem.
