web pages not closing

sometimes a web page will not allow me to close it,
particularly pages over a secure connection. examples are
my hotmail account window. also if i get a pop up from a
web page I can't close it until i close the original web
page it pop up with.

I have to ctrl+alt+delete every time to close it... which
is annoying because it closes every web page window i've
got open.

pls help!!

Ctrl + W will close the Active page without closing IE if you have more than
one page open.
