Thanks PA Bear, But I still do not believe in massive crossposting and your
copy of my post makes this look like I do, which is incorrect.
Massive Crossposting disabled again.

Heck, without CDO crowding everything else out, nothing seems excessive.

<full cross-posting resumed.>

However, when participating in a conversation which already spans several groups and is engaging persons from those groups (as opposed to a narrow topic which one might appropriately assume doesn't hold the slightest interest for those additional groups), it is proper to include all cross-posted groups in any replies.

Otherwise, replies to your posts make no sense. You may have noticed, in earlier cross-posted discussions, the difficulties this leads to when information that is pertinent to the discussion at hand is no longer seen by all participants.

Whether you believe in massive cross-posting or not is your business. But if you choose to participate in a massively cross-posted conversation, then it is only proper that you continue the cross-posting. Otherwise, the effect is not unlike "taking it private"--continuing a conversation via email, rather than in the NG itself. There are times when taking it private or reducing cross-posting to minimum are appropriate actions, but I wouldn't consider this conversation one of them.

In any case, four groups is hardly "massive cross-posting", and your accusation that Robear's including your content in his reply will somehow mis-represent you or your beliefs is ludicrous, Tedd. Your posts don't appear in the other groups you struck from the list--only his. Additionally, *not* including your content in his reply would make his own post meaningless in those groups where yours don't appear.

Hmmm, I wasn't expecting rain.

Rain wasn't a consideration. As I recall, conditions were 'Red', 'Yellow',
and 'White'. Under attack, imminent threat of attack, little chance of
attack.

Weapons where 'Free', 'Tight', or 'Hold'. These referred to antiaircraft
fire; 'Free' - "Fire on the aircraft unless you can positively identify it
as friendly"; 'Tight' - "Don't fire on the aircraft unless you can
positively identify it as hostile"; 'Hold' - "Don't fire".

"Rain = Incoming." I cannot get around that one, I live in Seattle.
Red Alert, kinda old. Need to get up to speed with Sci-Fi and make sure that
the SG-1 Team has the Iris closed on the Stargate :)
